TerraSAR-X Orthorectified Images

The Basic TerraSAR-X EEC product is orthorectified by applying readily available DEMs of the respective area. The quality of these DEMs may range from DTED Level 0 (usually from digital maps) up to DTED Level 2 (e.g. from the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission SRTM).

In an ORISAR, the geometric localization accuracy is enhanced by applying a more precise DEM (if obtainable or delivered by the client) as an essential input for an improved orthorectification process.

The product characteristics of a TerraSAR-X ORISAR are:

  • Multilook detected
  • WGS84 with standard projections UTM or UPS
  • Choice of radiometric representation
    - Radar brightness (beta naught)
    - Radiometric calibration (sigma naught)
    - Radiometric normalisation (gamma naught)
  • Information on local incidence angle, layover and shadow areas provided
  • Application of different SAR filters (GAMMA MAP, Lee, etc)
