Following the devestating earthquake in China (12 May, 2008), Infoterra has tasked TerraSAR-X to acquire data of the affected areas.
In a rapid response action, Infoterra's experts have evaluated and interpreted the data immediately upon reception to provide helpful information to Chinese and International rescue organisations, both governmental and non-governmental, as rapidly as possible. Initial results of this rapid response action are available for download below.
In the days and weeks following the earthquake, Infoterra has regularly provided additional TerraSAR-X acquisitions to the Chinese response units, supporting their ongoing efforts to lessen the effect of the catastrophe.
