EADS North America has received a five-year contract to provide commercial radar satellite data to the U.S. government’s National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) for use in intelligence, military and homeland security applications. The data will be provided by the geo-information service provider, Infoterra GmbH, an EADS Astrium subsidiary that holds the commercial exploitation rights for the German radar satellite TerraSAR-X.

Students use TerraSAR-X Data as basis for GIS project
Infoterra has contributed free TerraSAR-X data covering the project area of the first ever ESRI Summer Camp in Africa, part of Rwanda’s "ArcGIS in Secondary Schools" initiative. During this camp, pupils went to the study area to collect geographic coordinates from housings, parcels, water wells and electricity lines with GPS technology and satellite images.
