Rapid Topographic Evaluation and Base Mapping

Topographic base maps are essential for a variety of monitoring and planning activities; up-to date decision-making requires regular updates of existing maps.

Infoterra responds to the growing need for up-to-date topographic mapping by offering a number of topographic evaluation and mapping services. Satellite data acquired by different sources – some even weather independent - is the ideal data basis for this portfolio.

Scales may range from 1:10,000 – enabling a detailed extraction of man-made objects such as buildings, roads and parcels – to 1:250,000 for large area overviews.

All maps contain surface forms as well as surface features; localisation and identification of spatial, linear and point features are reliably enabled. Information extraction can be adjusted to the customers needs; all maps are available as vector data sets ready to use in any customer’s GIS system.

Particularly in regions almost permanently covered by clouds, the use of TerraSAR-X radar imagery is a cost and time-efficient base mapping approach – an innovative and competitive alternative to today’s methodologies.
