Capturing Movement of the Earth's Surface

Infoterra's Subsidence Maps display information on displacements of the Earth's surface, as may be caused e.g. by subsurface mining, oil-/gas extraction, infrastructure construction, excavations, or underground engineering. In most cases, such displacements happen very slowly, yet may have very sudden and extensive impacts.

Subsidence maps visualize displacements that have occurred between two acquisitions in the magnitude of millimeters – regularly monitored over a mid- to long-term time period, the mapping results are usually applied in risk diagnostics, oil-/gas production or mining applications.
