• Very High Resolution Land Cover Maps are generated at a scale of 1:10,000; directly corresponding to e.g. the latest specification of the EU's Directorate General Regional Policies for the Urban Atlas: 22 thematic classes at a 0.25 ha minimum mapping unit;
• Medium Resolution Land Cover Maps at scales 1:100,000 and smaller; e.g. contributions to the well-known European CORINE Land Cover data base with update rates of 5 – 10 years;
