Topical, high-resolution land cover information, harmonized across borders, is required by public authorities on all administrative levels in order to fulfill recent European and national monitoring and reporting obligations. Further, such data is an essential input to a variety of geo-information applications.
Based upon satellite imagery, Infoterra offers reliable and cost-efficient Land Cover Mapping Services at different thematic and spatial resolutions, either as individual client-specific solutions or as standardised products responding to the prevalent needs:
- Detailed Sealing Maps display built-up areas and soil sealing at 20m resolution;
- Very High Resolution Land Cover Maps are generated at a scale of 1:10,000; directly corresponding to e.g. the latest specification of the EU's Directorate General Regional Policies for the Urban Atlas: 22 thematic classes at a 0.25 ha minimum mapping unit;
- Medium Resolution Land Cover Maps at scales 1:100,000 and smaller; e.g. contributions to the well-known European CORINE Land Cover data base with update rates of 5 – 10 years;
- Individual and highly Specific Land Use / Land Cover Mapping Services are offered; including e.g. Agricultural Land Use Maps designed to fulfill dedicated user needs.
