Change Detection Mapping

Infoterra's Change Detection Maps provide information on geophysical processes and changes on the Earth's surface, such as the evolvement of surface sealing and urban sprawl. Based upon multi-temporal satellite data, these maps may be generated as one-off products, or as a series of observations documenting developments at regular intervals, e.g. for monitoring purposes.

TerraSAR-X, being a particularly reliable data source due to its weather independence and Infoterra's unique access rights, is usually applied for mid- or long-term observations. In case of time-critical evaluations, Infoterra's experts resort to any available acquisition.

Change Detection Maps are an essential basis for accurate updates of existing maps displaying e.g. topographic or land cover information, further, they are commonly used e.g. for urban monitoring and planning applications and the reliable assessment of changes in environmentally sensitive areas.
