TerraSAR-X-2: Securing a Sustainable Mission

One of the key goals of the TerraSAR-X mission is a sustainable long-term German radar satellite availability that reliably serves commercial clients as well as scientists worldwide.

Thus, when TerraSAR-X terminates its services – presumably in 2012 – the partners intend to have a successor in place: TerraSAR-X-2 is planned to be launched in the same year.

Infoterra plays a key role in ensuring this sustainability, as profits drawn from the ongoing commercial marketing of TerraSAR-X are to be re-invested into the construction, launch and operation of its successor.
