The TerraSAR-X Launch Prepartion team from EADS Astrium in Friedrichshafen has returned to Baikonur, this time joined by a team of specialists from the Lampoldshausen site. Together they will prepare and carry out the fuelling the spacecraft.
Currently, the team is excitedly looking forward to witnessing the launch of a Sojuz Rocket headed for the International Space Station ISS on saturday, April 7th.
Fuelling the spacecraft and the preparations of the launch itself are expected to require a total of four to six weeks of further preparation.
The next DNEPR launch, bringing the Egyptian satellite Egyptsat into orbit, have been postponed to April 17th. Following this, the final launch preparations for TerraSAR-X can begin, permitting a potential launch date in late May.
